Itinerary
Day 1
We will pick you up early from your hotel or the airport in Iquitos to begin an unforgettable adventure through the Peruvian Amazon. Our first experience will be a scenic boat ride along the Itaya River toward the traditional Belén Market, one of the most iconic places in Iquitos. Here, you will discover authentic Amazonian life as you explore its colorful stalls and learn about the wide variety of local products, medicinal plants, and traditions that are part of the region’s cultural heritage.
Next, we will visit the Amazon Rescue Center (CREA), an important institution dedicated to the conservation of Amazonian wildlife. During the visit, you will have the opportunity to observe the gentle Amazonian manatees, as well as monkeys, turtles, and other rescued species, while learning about the efforts being made to protect the biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest.
The adventure continues at the famous Quistococha Tourist Complex, one of Iquitos’ top attractions. You will explore its Amazonian zoo, home to representative rainforest species such as jaguars, monkeys, exotic birds, and reptiles. You will also gain insight into Amazonian ecosystems and, depending on conditions, may have the chance to observe some of the region’s most fascinating wildlife.
At midday, you will enjoy a delicious traditional Amazonian lunch overlooking the spectacular white-sand lagoon of Quistococha, surrounded by lush vegetation and towering palm trees. Afterwards, you will have free time to relax, admire the scenery, or take a refreshing swim in this unique natural beach located in the heart of the rainforest.
At the end of the tour, we will return to your hotel in Iquitos, concluding a day filled with nature, culture, adventure, and biodiversity, the perfect way to experience the essence of the Amazon in just one day.
