Itinerary

Day 1

Andean Route of History and Tradition

The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Puno as we head to the Sillustani Archaeological Complex, one of the most important necropolises in the Peruvian highlands. Here, we will discover the impressive pre-Inca chullpas, ancient funerary towers located on the shores of Lake Umayo, surrounded by history, spirituality, and unique landscapes. We will then continue to Lampa, known as the “Pink City”, where we will visit the Church of Santiago Apóstol, famous for its silver altar and for housing a unique replica in Latin America of Michelangelo’s Pietà.

Afterwards, we continue to Pucará, the birthplace of an ancient Andean culture. We will visit the Lithic Museum, where ancestral sculptures, ceramics, and archaeological pieces are displayed, followed by a traditional Toritos de Pucará workshop, where we will learn about their crafting process and meaning within the Andean worldview. Finally, we return to Puno, ending an enriching experience filled with history, living culture, and Andean tradition.
