The experience begins with pickup from your hotel in Puno and transfer to the departure point on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Before starting the activity, you will receive a safety briefing and instructions on kayak handling, basic paddling techniques, and proper use of the equipment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
Once ready, we will begin our kayak journey through the extensive reed beds of Lake Titicaca, a unique ecosystem that is home to a variety of Andean bird species. Along the way, you will enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings and breathtaking natural landscapes as we paddle toward the Uros Floating Islands.
Upon arrival, we will be welcomed by a local family with the traditional greeting "Kamisaraki" ("How are you?"), offering a unique opportunity to connect with the living culture of the Uros people. You will learn about their customs, way of life, and the importance of the totora reed, the plant used to build their floating islands, homes, and boats.
To complete the experience, we will enjoy a ride on a traditional totora reed boat, used by generations of Uros inhabitants on Lake Titicaca. Finally, we will return to the city of Puno, taking with us an authentic experience that combines nature, adventure, and ancestral culture.
