Hotel pickup and departure from Puno
The experience begins with pickup from your hotel in Puno and transfer to the port, where you will board a small motorized boat heading to a less-visited area of the Uros Floating Islands.
Hands-on cultural activities
Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your Uros hosts, who will share their way of life and invite you to participate in their daily activities. You will learn about harvesting totora, the aquatic plant used to build islands and boats, and take part in cutting the reeds yourself. You will also experience traditional fishing and, depending on the season, help collect bird eggs and learn how bird traps are made.
Cultural exchange and traditional handicrafts
The local families will show you how they build and maintain their floating islands and teach you about their traditional handicrafts. This experience offers a close and respectful connection with one of the most iconic cultures of Lake Titicaca.
Return to Puno
At the end of this cultural journey, we return to Puno with a deeper understanding of the life, traditions, and culture of the Uros people, having enjoyed a genuine experience away from conventional tourist routes.
