Itinerary

Day 1

Uros Tour: Living History of Lake Titicaca

According to your chosen schedule, our expert guide in Puno will pick you up at your hotel in Puno and transfer you to the Port of Titicaca in Puno, where you will board the boat heading toward the Uros Floating Islands. During the excursion, you will visit two of these islands while the guide shares fascinating information about their history, traditions, and ancestral culture. Here, you will discover firsthand the daily life of the local families and learn about the ingenious construction process of these islands made entirely from totora reeds, the natural plant that supports their homes, walkways, and boats.

You will also have the opportunity to enjoy an optional ride on a traditional totora reed boat, affectionately known as the “Mercedes Benz of the Uros”, a unique experience that blends tradition, adventure, and local charm.

Known as the capital island of the Uros, this island features a craft market, small stores with snacks and drinks, a restaurant, and basic services for visitors. During the visit, local families may also offer optional rides on their traditional reed boats (additional cost between S/. 10.00 and S/. 15.00 soles).

Throughout the tour, you will enjoy stunning views of Lake Titicaca while interacting with local families and discovering a culture that has preserved its ancestral way of life for generations. After the visit, you will return by boat to the city of Puno, where you will be transferred back to your hotel in Puno, concluding an unforgettable experience surrounded by living culture, unique floating islands, breathtaking lake landscapes, and ancient Andean traditions.
