Experiential stay with local families
Visitors share daily activities with the inhabitants, participate in fishing, raft building, and handicraft making, experiencing an authentic cultural exchange.
Traditional gastronomy and handicrafts
During the stay, typical dishes are enjoyed and handicrafts made from totora can be purchased, reflecting the creativity and sustainability of the community.
From the very beginning, we will be by your side so you can live an authentic experience on the Uros Floating Islands. We will welcome you at your hotel in Puno, at the airport, or at the bus station, and accompany you to the Kalapajra port, where together we will board the boat that will take us to one of the islands. There, you will be received by a local family who will open the doors of their home built with totora, the plant that gives life to the islands, houses, rafts, and handicrafts.
On the first day, we will share with you the community’s daily activities. We will have lunch together and then guide you through experiences such as cutting totora, setting fishing nets, and crafting with the reeds alongside the locals. As evening falls, we will accompany you to witness a demonstration of traditional clothing and enjoy a family dinner before resting in a simple yet welcoming accommodation. The sunset over Lake Titicaca will be a unique moment we will contemplate and capture together.
At dawn on the second day, we will accompany you in collecting fishing nets and observing native fish of the lake. Afterwards, we will share a breakfast prepared with local products, always with the majestic view of Titicaca as a backdrop. Finally, we will take you back to the city of Puno, where our team will be waiting at the port to accompany you to your hotel, closing an experiential journey that will remain in your memory.
