Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Puno – Uros Floating Islands

We will pick you up from your hotel in Puno, the airport, or the bus station, depending on your arrival, and transfer you to Kalapajra Port, where you will board a boat to the Uros Floating Islands.

Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by a local family into their home, built entirely from totora reeds. Throughout the day, you will learn how this remarkable plant is used to build the floating islands, homes, boats, and handicrafts that sustain the community's traditional way of life.

After enjoying lunch with your host family, you will take part in authentic cultural activities, including harvesting totora reeds, setting traditional fishing nets, and learning about local handicraft making. In the evening, you will enjoy a demonstration of traditional Uros clothing, followed by a family dinner while watching a breathtaking sunset over Lake Titicaca.

You will spend the night in a comfortable family homestay, specially prepared to offer an authentic cultural experience on the floating islands.

Day 2

Day 2: Uros Floating Islands – Puno

Early in the morning, you will participate in a traditional fishing activity, helping retrieve fishing nets and learning about some of the native species that inhabit Lake Titicaca. Afterwards, you will enjoy a homemade breakfast prepared with local ingredients alongside your host family.

Finally, you will board the boat back to Puno, where our staff will transfer you to your hotel, bringing to an end an unforgettable cultural experience with the families of the Uros Floating Islands.
