Arrival and first exploration of Sandoval Lake
The journey begins in Puerto Maldonado with a transfer to the river port, followed by a boat ride along the Madre de Dios River. After reaching the entrance point, a guided jungle walk leads you to the lodge, offering the first opportunities to observe wildlife and vegetation. In the afternoon, enjoy a canoe ride on Sandoval Lake, where the calm waters and surrounding nature create a peaceful and immersive setting.
Sunrise wildlife and jungle exploration
Start the day with an early canoe excursion at sunrise, the best time to observe wildlife activity in the Amazon. After breakfast, continue with guided walks through primary forest trails, discovering towering trees, insects and the complexity of the ecosystem. Later, experience the jungle again through another canoe ride or walk, as the environment shifts into a quieter and more atmospheric setting.
Final lake experience and return
Enjoy a final canoe ride on Sandoval Lake, ideal for wildlife observation and photography in the early morning light. Afterwards, return via jungle trail to the river and navigate back to Puerto Maldonado, followed by transfer to your hotel, airport or terminal.
