Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Chachapoyas – Karajía Sarcophagi – City Tour

We begin the day with a guided hike to the Karajía Sarcophagi, impressive pre-Hispanic funerary structures set on nearly inaccessible cliffs, one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the region.

Next, we enjoy a traditional lunch at a local home, a perfect opportunity to connect with the living culture of Chachapoyas.

In the afternoon, we take a city tour of historic Chachapoyas, visiting its main squares, colonial mansions, and traditional markets, where the spirit of the city comes alive.

We close the day with a organic coffee tasting, highlighting local production, and rest at our accommodation in Chachapoyas, recharging for the next adventure.

Day 2

Day 2: Chachapoyas – Kuelap – Milpuj

After breakfast, we head to the Kuélap cable car station, ascending to the summit of the impressive citadel of Kuélap, the most emblematic site of the Chachapoya culture. We enjoy a guided tour along its ancient walls, with panoramic views over the Andean landscapes.

After lunch, we continue to the Milpuj – La Heredad Private Conservation Area, where we explore interpretive trails in close contact with local nature and biodiversity.

We end the day with an overnight stay in Milpuj, a peaceful setting ideal for rest and connection with nature.

Day 3

Day 3: Milpuj – Revash – Leymebamba

Following breakfast, we travel to Revash to visit the iconic Revash Mausoleums, unique archaeological sites perched on dramatic cliffs. During the visit, we learn about ancestral funerary traditions of the Chachapoya culture and observe rock paintings that reflect their worldview.

After lunch, enjoy a free afternoon in Leymebamba, a town rich in cultural history, perfect for exploring at your own pace and experiencing local life.

Day 4

Day 4: Leymebamba – Museum – Woodcraft Art – Cocachimba

This day is dedicated to local craftsmanship and cultural memory, starting with a hands-on experience with a master wood artisan, learning traditional techniques passed down through generations.

We then visit the renowned Leymebamba Museum, home to one of the region’s most important collections of mummies and ancestral artifacts, offering deep insight into pre-Hispanic history.

In the afternoon, we transfer to Cocachimba, where you’ll have free time to enjoy the natural surroundings, relax, and prepare for the next adventure.

Day 5

Day 5: Gocta Waterfall – Chachapoyas

We set out on a guided hike from Cocachimba to the impressive Gocta Waterfall, considered one of the highest waterfalls in the world. Along the trail, we stop at natural viewpoints to observe the flora and fauna of the cloud forest, within a highly biodiverse environment.

During the hike, we enjoy lunch along the way, and at the end of the experience, we return to Chachapoyas, closing this journey immersed in nature.
