Itinerary

Day 1

Puno - Copacabana - Isla del Sol (Southern Part)

Your journey begins at sunrise in Puno or La Paz, starting an unforgettable adventure across borders, cultures, and unique Andean landscapes. Along the way to Copacabana, the majestic Lake Titicaca blends with breathtaking views of the Royal Mountain Range, creating a truly unforgettable natural setting.

Upon arriving in Copacabana, you’ll have time to explore this charming town full of tradition and spirituality before continuing to the most anticipated part of the trip.

Later, you’ll sail towards the Island of the Sun (southern sector), navigating waters considered sacred in the Andean worldview, where, according to legend, Manco Cápac and Mama Ocllo, founders of the Inca Empire, were born. This journey is not just a transfer, but an experience that connects history, culture, and nature.

On the island, you’ll walk along ancient paths visiting the Inca Stairways, the Sacred Fountains, and ancient ceremonial altars. The hike continues to the Pilkokaina Temple, surrounded by ancient agricultural terraces and panoramic lake views that invite contemplation.

At the end of the day, you’ll enjoy a stunning sunset over the lake, a unique moment of peace and connection with the surroundings. The day ends with an overnight stay in a local lodge, where you’ll experience the authentic rhythm of island life in close contact with nature.

Day 2

Hike discovering the Isla del Sol

After breakfast, one of the most memorable experiences of the journey begins: a hike of approximately 3 hours across the Island of the Sun, following ancient trails that connect the southern and northern parts of the island.

This experience goes far beyond a simple hike. It is a deep immersion into the living history of the Andes, where every step reveals breathtaking landscapes and ancestral traditions. Along the way, you’ll pass through ancient agricultural terraces, small local villages, and natural viewpoints with panoramic views of Lake Titicaca and the majestic Royal Mountain Range. The slow pace of the journey allows for an authentic connection with the surroundings and the cultural essence of the island.

Upon reaching the northern sector, considered the birthplace of the Inca Empire, you’ll visit two of its most iconic sites: the archaeological complex of Chinkana, known as the “Inca labyrinth,” and the Sacred Rock, a symbolic place where, according to tradition, the Inca civilization was born.

Throughout the journey, you’ll also have the opportunity to observe the daily life of local communities, who still preserve ancestral traditions in one of the most sacred places in the Andes.

Later, you’ll board a shared boat, making a stop along the way to enjoy lunch before arriving in Copacabana.

Finally, return to Puno or continue your journey towards La Paz.
