Itinerary

Day 1

Arequipa – Chivay – Cruz del Cóndor – Cabanaconde – San Juan de Chuccho – Cosñirhua – Malata – Sangalle Oasis – Arequipa

Departure from Arequipa and Arrival in Chivay

The tour starts at 3:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in Arequipa and departure to Chivay, on an approximately 3-hour journey. Upon arrival, we will enjoy breakfast before continuing through the valley.

Cruz del Cóndor and Cabanaconde

We will visit the Cruz del Cóndor Viewpoint, where you can observe the flight of the Andean condor and the depth of the Colca Canyon. Then, we will continue to Cabanaconde for lunch and a short rest.

Beginning of the Trek and San Juan de Chuccho

From the Pampa San Miguel Viewpoint, we will begin the descent toward the bottom of the canyon, following Andean trails with views of the Colca River. At the end of the hike, we will reach San Juan de Chuccho, a local community that offers an authentic cultural experience.

Traditional Villages and Sangalle Oasis

We will continue through traditional villages such as Cosñirhua and Malata, learning about rural life in the valley, until reaching Sangalle Oasis, a warm natural area surrounded by vegetation, ideal for resting or enjoying the pool.

Return to Arequipa

Finally, we will begin the return trip through Chivay, with the option to visit La Calera hot springs. Along the way, we will stop at natural viewpoints, the Volcanoes Viewpoint, and the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Arrival in Arequipa will be at approximately 6:30 p.m.
