Itinerary
Day 1 Discover the magic of the Uyuni Salt Flat
Departure from La Paz one day before the tour aboard a comfortable overnight sleeper bus to Uyuni.
At 8:45 p.m., we begin our overnight journey to Uyuni on a comfortable sleeper bus.
The following morning, arrival is expected around 6:30 a.m., where our staff will be waiting at the Uyuni bus station to assist and welcome you. After free time for breakfast (not included), our adventure to the breathtaking Salar de Uyuni begins at 10:30 a.m.
Our first stop is the iconic Train Cemetery, where you will see old English and French locomotives surrounded by a desert landscape reflecting Bolivia’s railway history. We then continue to the community of Colchani, famous for its traditional salt workshops and Andean handicrafts, where you will learn about the artisanal salt extraction process and discover handmade local products.
Gradually, we enter the endless white landscapes of the salt flats, visiting iconic sites such as the famous Salt Eyes, the Dakar Monument, the colorful Flag Plaza, and the historic Salt Museum, built entirely with salt blocks.
At midday, we will enjoy a delicious lunch in the middle of the Uyuni Salt Flats, surrounded by one of South America’s most spectacular landscapes. Afterwards, we continue to the famous Incahuasi Island, a volcanic island covered with giant cacti and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the salt flats.
Later, we head to a wide open area perfect for taking the famous perspective and creative photos, using the incredible visual effects and endless horizon that make this place truly unique.
Finally, we will enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the Uyuni Salt Flats with a glass of wine while the sky transforms into golden, pink, and orange tones.
After this unique experience, we will return to Uyuni to board the bus to La Paz.
