Why choose this tour?

1

A genuine connection with the living culture of Lake Titicaca

We accompany you on a journey to Taquile Island, a place where Quechua culture, community organization, and respect for nature continue to shape everyday life. We walk alongside ancient agricultural terraces and share the meaning of a lifestyle rooted in sustainability and cooperation.

2

Cultural heritage passed down through generations

Throughout the visit, we highlight Taquile’s renowned textile art, recognized as Cultural Heritage, explaining how each piece tells stories, social values, and traditions preserved through collective knowledge. Rather than simply observing, we guide a deeper understanding of the island’s cultural identity.

3

Responsible tourism with a positive impact

Traveling with us means directly supporting local communities and promoting conscious tourism that prioritizes people’s well-being and the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, creating a meaningful experience for both travelers and hosts.

We begin the day with pick-up from your hotel in Puno and transfer to the port of Lake Titicaca, where we board our boat and start the navigation. Our first stop is at the floating islands of the Uros, where we walk on totora reeds and share time with local families, who explain their Andean traditions, construction techniques, and way of life closely tied to the lake. For those who wish, we facilitate an optional ride on a traditional totora reed boat as part of the cultural experience. We then continue navigating toward Taquile Island, a place where Andean essence remains intact. Along stone paths and agricultural terraces, we accompany a visit to a Quechua community proud of its heritage, learning firsthand about the importance of collective work and the symbolic value of its world-renowned textile art. The experience concludes with a traditional lunch prepared by local families, where flavors such as Lake Titicaca trout, quinoa, and native potatoes are paired with Andean hospitality and cultural expressions that reflect the soul of the highlands. More than a tour, this day creates a genuine connection with this sacred territory.
